Mazin brings over 30 years of unparalleled experience in geotechnical and tunnelling design, having led and managed challenging projects across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Australia.

Mazin has an impressive track record, including the design and management of mega projects such as the Doha Metro, Riyadh Metro, and Etihad Rail. His extensive expertise in advanced numerical modelling and complex geotechnical problem-solving will be a tremendous asset to our team and clients.

Dr Azam Khan

Dr Azam Khan has a PhD Degree in Structural Engineering from Imperial College London.  He has around 15 years of experience as a structural design engineer in the transport, energy and building infrastructure sectors. Azam is experienced in conceptual design; FEED, detailed design and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects, brown field modifications and structural integrity management.  He has special interest in steel and concrete design.

Salwa has an overall experience of 30 years in the fields of Civil and Geotechnical Engineering. She has successfully led different teams of Geotechnical Specialists and winning several mega projects worldwide. Prof. Mona Lisa is a senior researcher in earth sciences, and have significantly contributed to Earthquake Seismology in Asia and the Middle East.

Mona is a specialist in Focal Mechanism Analysis which provide essential insights into the source characteristics of earthquakes, including the orientation of fault planes and the type of faulting involved.

Mona has received several prestigious honours and awards, highlighting her

exceptional achievements in Seismology and Geophysics. In 2009, she was

awarded the Gold Medal by the Academy of Sciences, acknowledging her

outstanding contributions to the scientific community.

DR MAZIN ALHAMRANY

Dr Mazin Alhamrany is a Chartered Engineer with over 35 years of experience in leading geotechnical and tunnelling design teams and managing major projects in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. He is a specialist in the field of applications of Finite Element Method for tackling complex soil-structure interaction problems.

Before joining Geoporte, Mazin has previously contributed to the geotechnical and tunnel design of major international projects in the Middle East such as Mega Reservoirs in Doha, Doha Metro, Doha Expressway, Inner Doha Re-sewerage Implementation Strategy (IDRIS), Riyadh Metro, Strategic Tunnel Enhancement Programme (STEP) in Abu Dhabi and Etihad Rail (UAE).

In the UK, Mazin has also contributed to the design of major projects in the United Kingdom such as the Tottenham Court Road Station Upgrade, Gerrard’s Cross re-design, Thames Link Borough Viaduct, Blackfriars Bridge, East London Line (Dalston station) and the Crossrail Project (Farringdon Station and Pudding Mill Lane Portal).

Earlier while in the Netherlands, Mazin had worked on technically challenging projects acorss Europe, such as the High-Speed Line Project between Amsterdam and Paris and the North-South Metro Line underneath Amsterdam Central Station Building.
